Dr. Perry Herson is a board certified Endocrinologist specializing in the treatment of endocrine and hormonal disorders. He is a medical specialist who is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He maintains a special interest in the cutting edge treatment of thyroid disorders; Type I and Type 2 Diabetes. He attended medical school, internship, residency and fellowship at the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan. Dr. Herson is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. He has performed thousands of ultrasound guided biopsies of thyroid nodules in his private office. Because of his ongoing commitment to the health of the New York City Police personnel, Dr. Herson was elected an "Honorary Surgeon" in Endocrinology by the NYPD. He is the only Endocrinologist in New York to have this distinction and was honored with full membership to the NYPD by the Commissioner.Dr. Herson developed a national reputation on the treatment of thyroid disease. His research led to multiple publications and invitations to lecture nationwide on the subject. He is also an active national speaker for several pharmaceutical companies in the field of diabetes and thyroid cancer.
